Thirteen Months, Babies!

They are seriously way smarter than I give them credit for.

Don't take that the wrong way -- I think my kids are brilliant, but I swear, they surprise me every day with things they know how to do. Last night we were filling up the bath tub for bath time and Jeff asked Madilynn, "Where's your button?" ... she pointed to her belly button! I asked Mason where "Momma's nose is" ... he pointed to my nose!

Madilynn sliding --

I didn't get a picture of it, but Mason climbed up onto our tv stand last night. These kids.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH --- HAULT ---- how ironic.

I was in the middle of writing this blog post and I got a call from our baby sitter (aka my sister in law) who tells me - "Mason fell on his face, he's bleeding, I need you to come home right now".

That was my day yesterday. Got home to a sad little boy and a very shooken SIL. Mason tripped over one of my long curtains and fell right onto the ceramic dog food bowl. I took him into the bathroom to get a warm wash cloth to try to clean him up a little and so that I could get a better look. His poor eye was swollen a little, his nose was full of dried blood and snot (he has a bit of a cold), just gross, he looked beat up. He saw himself in the mirror and gave himself the proudest smirk and little chuckle. I will never forget that moment.

After looking him over and not really being sure if his nose was broken, fractured, or if I was just being an over protective momma, I decided to call the pedi's office to see if I could get a same day appointment (or if I would have to go to urgent care). Luckily we got an appointment, the pedi we saw was pretty awesome -- he basically told us that he looked fine. He felt his nose bone and said he was not concerned and would not send us to get x-rays because he felt he was fine. He reassured me that when you fall on your face, you're going to bleed a lot. Well, duh.  I think it was because I kept saying, by the looks of all the paper towels used to clean his face, there was a lot of blood. I'm such a ftm.

Here's to hoping we have a relaxing, fun-filled weekend!

Those plates are cute, huh?
...yea...they didn't last long.
Feeding his momma his strawberries is SO MUCH FUN!

The babies love their Uncle!

It's a New Year!

How awful am I that I haven't updated since Halloween.

Whew - a lot has gone on!

The little babies celebrated their very first Thanksgiving-

We also celebrated their very first Christmas! They missed Christmas last year by three days!!

One of my favorite pictures of her, ever. ^

Did I also mention we turned ONE!?

We had a cookies and milk themed first birthday! Pinned, here!

At our one year check up (see picture below of kisses while we waited) we checked out great! All of our milestones continue to be right on target. Did I mention we're WALKING?! We're officially on whole milk. We don't eat any baby food anymore... I have real life toddlers. It's crazy! It was a bitter-sweet appointment because although they are doing wonderful our pediatrician is retired now, so we have to find someone new and that was our last ever appointment with her. She was one of the on duty doctors when the babies were first in the NICU so they've had some history with her!

It's a good thing that I have a good amount of time off of work on holidays and especially at Christmas because we sure had a jam packed end of the year! We also took the plunge and as a family Christmas present got a year pass to Disneyland! The babies are obsessed with Mickey and Minnie... well basically anything on Disney Jr., so it's a fun place to take them!

I promise to update sooner than I did last time!!
