Easter 2015

Easter dress and t-shirt set here
This year was a lot of fun and now I've realized I am going to need to be on top of my game when it comes to holidays! They "get it" now... and had a lot of fun learning that the Easter Bunny(!!!) left them each a basket of goodies!

Easter morning came and they both climbed up on my bed to cuddle. Their baskets were hid in their playroom. So I told them what day it was and that the Easter Bunny told me that he had a surprise for you! They were both so excited and I told them that the EB left their surprises in the place where we keep all of their toys. Madilynn said, "the room". I said well, go check! I shut had shut the door of their room so they both ran over and knocked on the door. I opened it for them and they ran to their baskets.
Mason immediately grabbed the helicopter out of it and Madilynn grabbed her squirt gun!
The weekend before Easter, my mom and I took them to an event in town that had an Easter Egg Hunt, some inflatables, and of course, the Easter Bunny! That morning, we practiced! I hid eggs and they came out and gathered all of the eggs. They really caught on and love this new "game". They were really excited to go do a big Easter Egg Hunt....

Unfortunately, the egg hunt consisted of everyone lining up and getting two eggs out of a bucket, so that was kind of a bust. Mason loved the Cars jumper they had and did not want to get out when his time was up. I bribed him to go meet the Easter Bunny with a trip to get ice cream. Saying he was apprehensive is an understatement... Madilynn wanted nothing to do with it.

The next day all of their cousins were going to be at my inlaw's house, so we headed down there to color Easter eggs and hunt Easter eggs. Mason jumped off the diving board for the first time.

We had a pretty Easter packed weekend and we did it all over the following weekend. We started at my inlaw's house, visited Aunt 'Nisey and Uncle Dan's house on Easter and then hung out and played in the dirt at Aunt Adri and Uncle Adam's house (I don't have pictures from their house) so that we could give them Baby Brayden's Easter basket (one of their cousin on the way).

Hope you had an awesome Easter!

The 4th + Summer Bucket list FUN = our weekend!

The 4th of July was a hit! We had lots of fun spending the day with our family and friends!! Madilynn LOVED throwing the poppers down on the ground while we were waiting for the fireworks to begin and Mason LOVED the firework show. We got to go to the Safari Park (this was their 2nd visit but they were pretty young the first time we went) and they
seemed to love the animals! Madilynn's favorite word of the day was "gorilla", with a few added L's. SO CUTE.

Next on our list was to find a splash pad! The kids liked splashing around but weren't loving it like I thought they would. They stayed more on the edge and walked around stomping puddles.

We also got to try our first gymnastics class! They both seemed to really enjoy it. There is a lot of structure to the class and following directions, that will take some work but I think it's going to be great for both of them to learn to pay attention and do activities in a group setting. Madilynn was not ok with someone else helping her across the balance beam, so I held her, I'm hoping as time goes on this fear will decrease.

Until next weekend!
